Privacy
The leaderboards are opt-in. The first time Tidebound starts, it asks whether you want to take part. If you say no, the mod never contacts this website. You can change your answer at any time in the mod's Settings (Online section).
What the mod sends (only if you opted in)
- A random id created on your computer. It is not your Minecraft account, UUID or username.
- The display name you chose: your Minecraft name, or an anonymous
Angler-XXXXXX. - Tidebound numbers: Angler level, fish caught, species discovered, Uncharted species, bosses defeated, Ascensions, Expedition depth, lifetime coins (not shown publicly), mod version.
- Your heaviest catch of each species.
- Which easter eggs you have found, and the date you first found each one (for the Easter Eggs page).
- A short "I'm playing" signal every few minutes while you play, with only your random id, for the live player count on the home page. Only a scrambled (hashed) form of the id and the time are kept, and they are deleted after an hour.
When
Only while you are playing Tidebound. Progress, records and easter eggs are only sent from singleplayer worlds where cheats, creative mode and spectator mode have never been used; multiplayer servers never count toward them. The "I'm playing" signal for the live player count carries nothing but your random id. It is sent from any world, including servers, creative mode and worlds with cheats.
What is never sent or stored
Your Minecraft account, UUID, IP address, chat, files, other mods or anything you do outside Tidebound. Like any website, the hosting provider sees your IP address while delivering a request; the leaderboard does not store it.
Deleting your data
In the mod: Settings → Online → Privacy & my data → Delete my online data. Everything stored under your id is removed immediately and your choice is set to "no".
Fair play
Records are a bit of fun, not a prize: there is nothing to win, buy or earn here.
